The funny.....

#1 I ate a sticker the other day. I was on my way home from picking up Cadence, and I had an apple in the car. I was driving so I couldn't take the sticker off. I had planned to eat around the sticker....but I went to set the apple core down in my cup holder and...that's when it hit me I ate the sticker.

#2 I dropped some neosporin behind the couch a LONG time ago. We finally moved the couch out to clean behind it and Ed grabbed the neosporin and tossed it to me. I had it in my hand for 10 seconds and I tossed it up onto the buffet. I tossed it a little to hard and it slid across the top and fell behind the buffet. So immediately after Ed retrieved it from behind the couch I threw it behind another piece of furniture. Hang on to your neosporin people.

Cadence also got her first shiner.

Poor baby fell off a little cardboard box she was standing on.

On the colder days, Cadence lays on her blanket and I pull her around the house.

Even when it's cold outside she puts on my shoes and then says "Outside?"

Working on saying some prayers before dinner. We say "Can you pray?" ..and then she folds her hands.

She's just getting SO big. She is talking so much, I am thankful for every single moment. I just soak it in, what a gift.

The exciting.....

We are so fortunate, Ed won a trip through work to Cancun and it was beautiful!

I had never been out of the country, so it was all new to me.

And finally, the world according to Cade.....

1. Laundry baskets are for rides around the house

2. The food pyramid is made up of only graham crackers

3. Turning the TV on and off as quickly as possible is the best game ever

4. Elmo lives on Mommy's phone

5. Bathtubs are for pooping in

(Last night, Ed and I were in the bathroom giving Cadence a bath and she pooped in the tub. I pulled her out really quickly as soon as she did it but she was kind of slippery. My hand slipped off her arm and I punched Ed in the face. There we were - a bathtub full of poop water, a crying baby and Ed's glasses crooked on his face)

Our one year old!

Our sweet baby girl is one!!

I never thought I would have so many emotions with her first birthday but I did. I was filled with happiness and excitment for her, but felt so emotional about how quickly a year had passed. If each year goes this fast, she will be off to college in no time. Realizing this makes me want to concentrate on being present in each moment. Sometimes with the craziness of each day it is easy to miss the beautiful moment in front of your eyes. We are so lucky to have her, she has brought so much joy to our life - can't wait to see what the next few years have in store!

It started getting very hard to get her to lay down on her blanket for a picture...

This will have to do!

We had a little birthday party for her the weekend before her actual birthday.

When she woke up the morning of her birthday party she was so excited about the decorations!

On her actual birthday we surprised her in the morning with a wagon.

She ate her entire cupcake!

Christmas morning was sweeter than ever. Cade enjoyed climbing on her presents more than opening them.

Ho-Ho-Ho!

I'm a slacker on the blogging among other things (like working out) these days. I spend most of my time eating the sugar cookies I had intended to give to my neighbors and playing with Cade so you will have to forgive me. I am so excited for Christmas this year - last year Cadence came on Christmas eve so we weren't home until later Christmas night from the hospital.

We got out our little tree and decorated it...well I did most of the decorating because Ed injured his finger playing football Thanksgiving morning. Correction,..he injured it warming up to play football Thanksgiving morning. So anyways, Vienna Sausage finger and I got out all of the decorations and hung them up while baby girl was taking a nap. My tree doesn't really have a theme or anything, just a conglomeration of ornaments acquired over time. Even though it isn't as aesthetically pleasing as a themed tree, I love how each and every ornament has a memory tied to it. I look forward to Cadence having her own little memories.

My Favorite Holiday Moments (in no particular order)

1. Waking up and finding that the door on the wood burning stove was open, there was a foot print in the ashes...Santa was there FOR SURE!

2. Leslie counting all the presents under the tree to make sure that Lynsey and I didn't have more than her.

3. When my great grandma gave my mom and my aunt Lori cutesy little underwear for Christmas in front of everyone. My mom opened them and then....tried to pretend that the gift didn't exist at all because she was mortified.

4. Lynsey, who was about a year or two old, was stuck behind our old upright piano bench and she couldn't figure out how to crawl out from behind it. Dad moved the bench out and then she just sort of followed it staying under it, crying. That's not that funny huh...more sad...I guess you had to be there.

5. Aunt Lori singing Aretha Franklin into my Mom's candlestick holder.

6. Leslie decorated the tree one year, being that she did all the work she cut out a picture of her face and placed it over the angel's on top of the tree.

7. Eating pancakes at Denny's in Arnold on late on Christmas Eve just Dad, Lynsey and I while Mom finished up at work.

8. One year Dad lifted Lynsey on top of his shoulders to put the angel on top and once she got up there she let one rip!

9. Every single year, my Mom and Dad have put a toothbrush in my stocking with the Candy. Now, it wouldn't be the same without the toothbrush.

10. My Mom and Dad used to hide presents in Dad's workshop in the basement before Christmas morning. What a coincidence that every year around Christmas my Mom would tell us that Dad dropped something in the workshop and there is glass EVERYWHERE,...so we shouldn't go down there and play.

11. Coming home Christmas night with Ed and my brand new baby girl

Thought I would share this too since it is Christmas. These are ten prophecies from the Old Testament, fulfilled in the coming of Jesus. I like stuff like this, because I feel like it helps solidify my faith.

1. Jesus will come from the line of Abraham. Prophecy: Genesis 12:3. Fulfilled: Matthew 1:1.
2. Jesus’ mother will be a virgin. Prophecy: Isaiah 7:14. Fulfilled: Matthew 1:18–23.
3. Jesus will be a descendent of Isaac and Jacob. Prophecy: Genesis 17:19 and Numbers 24:17. Fulfilled: Matthew 1:2.
4. Jesus will be born in the town Bethlehem. Prophecy: Micah 5:2. Fulfilled: Luke 2:1–7.
5. Jesus will be called out of Egypt. Prophecy: Hosea 11:1. Fulfilled: Matthew 2:13–15.
