November

Here we are,...35 weeks along already, I can't believe it!

Fridays are the day that the week of the pregnancy changes and I get SOOOO excited, I feel like it's the baby's birthday every single week!! I wanna bake a cake and say, "Good job baby, you did it, you are 35 weeks old!"

I have really enjoyed the experience of being pregnant so far and I feel so thankful for this life growing inside me. What a miracle and perfect design this whole process is!

Ed and I are in the process of deciding the baby's name, but since we don't know what we are having it is twice as hard.  We want to pick something different, but not something that is like "apple" or "bear" or something that screams that the parent is trying way too hard at the whole name thing. We've had such a hard time with the names we just started saying we would just reverse our first and middle names. If the baby is a girl we will name her Joy Leah Akers and if it's a boy August Edward Akers.  But really, I think it helps to say the name aloud in various situations so this is our fool proof, patented, 6 step process to help us with the names:

1) Cheer like the child is at a soccer game, "come on johnny you can do it"
2) Pretend like you are the teacher and call role with it "johnny akers?"
3) See if we can make any cuss words or inappropriate jokes out of the initials
4) Google it
5) Act like the child is in trouble, "johnny go to your room"
6) Act like you are calling school, "um hi, this is johnny akers' mom"

johnny is not the name.

I have lots of friends having babies right now which is so exciting,...but I have to tell you about our friends Jenny and Nate. They are expecting!! Woo-hoo. The way she told us was so awesome. She gave me a gift bag at my shower and there were two books inside for the baby.....See for yourself what the tags said...

Jenny and Nate are having twins!!

In September we celebrated Mom's 50th birthday : ) She is the sweetest most selfless person I know and she sure doesn't look fifty to me!

We all went in on a ring for her birthday. Grandma says, "ooooohhh"when Mom opened her gift.  It looks like Grandma's dog is on the table but she's not someone is holding her, so don't worry.

I am living vicariously through Ed. He did the Warrior Dash this September with a bunch of our friends. It's  a 5K with obstacles, complete with a mud pit.

I met them at Cook and Teri's after the race. Cook and Teri's sweet baby girl Emily

I had a couple baby showers, but I don't have all the pictures yet. So I just will share a couple for now. My mom, sisters and some friends threw a shower for me at our house.

Ed met some friends at a bar near our house while the shower was going on. I was wiped out that night and was sound asleep while Ed was sitting up in bed watching TV and sipping on a glass of very COLD ice water. Eventually Ed got sleepy too and his cup of ice water dumped all over me. I couldn't even be mad because it was too funny to think about him dozing off as his cup slowly tilted my direction : ) We slept on towels the rest of the night.

Yummy treats! It was so cute!

Lynsey made this collage

Leslie and Lynsey surprised me and had a shower at my Grandma's house : )  Bella, my second cousin helping me unwrap gifts.

Cute little cupcakes...so sweet!! They were so good too.

Ed and I had some maternity pictures done when I was 30 weeks along. A friend from church took the pictures, check out her blog. She is awesome! donnaharrisphotography.com

I am learning my lesson about wearing scarves like these. Last Sunday I ran to the grocery store, but on the way there I had to stop to get a giftcard for someone at bread co. I just thought while I was there I better get myself a 900 calorie blueberry muffin (even though I already ate breakfast). When I met Ed at church a little later...he said, "honey, did you stop somewhere to eat something?" Before I could think of a lie, I looked down to see my scarf filled with lots of crumbs : ) Caught.

Oh the baby likes Halloween candy too....I had only 8 trick-or-treaters but the baby took care of the rest of the Halloween candy.

Kind of a blurry picture, but we celebrated Linda's, Ed's Grandpa Lee's and Jackson's birthdays. Ed and Andy put together Jack's toys.

That's all for now
